Our Story

I built this because I could
never decide what to eat.

Select for Me started as a personal annoyance turned into a project. No funding, no team — just one person who got tired of opening Swiggy and Zomato every single day and scrolling for twenty minutes without ordering anything.

If you've ever opened a food delivery app at 8pm, scrolled for ten minutes, closed it, opened it again, and still ended up ordering the same paneer butter masala you always order — this app exists because of exactly that moment.

There's a strange kind of fatigue that comes from having infinite food choices and zero conviction. Every restaurant looks the same after a while. Every cuisine blurs into the next. And somehow the simplest question — "what do you want to eat?" — becomes the hardest one to answer some days.

Why I built Select for Me

I wanted something that would just decide for me. Not give me forty options and ask me to pick again — actually decide, the way a friend who knows your taste would. Someone who knows it's hot outside so you probably don't want a heavy curry. Someone who knows your budget without you having to think about it. Someone who's seen what you usually like and just tells you.

So I built that friend using AI. It looks at the weather right now, the time of day, your budget, and the food preferences you've set once — and it just tells you what to eat. No infinite scroll. No decision fatigue. Just an answer.

What makes it different

Most food apps are built to keep you browsing — more restaurants, more offers, more choices, because that's how they make money. Select for Me does the opposite. It tries to get you to a decision as fast as possible, and then gets out of your way. If you want to order, it shows you exactly where on Swiggy or Zomato. If you'd rather cook, it gives you a full recipe that fits your budget and your time.

Where it's going

This is still early — built by one person, shipped fast, and improved based on what real use teaches me. If something feels off or you have an idea that would make this better, I'd genuinely like to hear it. You can reach out through the contact page.
